The focus of this role is to help the writing team produce content for collateral, digital channels, advertising, press releases, newsletters, presentations and internal communications. The Junior Copywriter will be responsible for tackling a variety of copy projects including blog posts, product descriptions, email blasts and company announcements.


This individual must feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, be flexible and able to write quickly, accurately and on-brand. Work is primarily done via email, in meetings, and in an open space work environment. This role is part creative – helping to develop copy ideas—and part strategic thinking—learning how to manage individual workflow.


The Junior Copywriter should have strong multitasking skills and be a self-starter with an affinity for deadlines. Must be able to work fluidly with other departments. Should be eager to grow from feedback. Shinola currently works with the Asana project management system, as well as verbal and written requests.


  • Assists in writing of all copy for digital content, social channels, printed collateral, advertising, press releases, event evites, newsletters, presentations, internal communications and ecommerce product descriptions 
  • Interviews sources and conducts research as needed for blog content
  • Under guidance, meets deadlines and learns to manage individual assignments
  • Uses our content management system to post Journal entries to


  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication or Advertising
  • Strong ability to research, interview, and source information
  • Basic understanding of search engine-optimized copy
  • Basic understanding of content management systems/HTML
  • Strong attention to detail. Must be highly organized
  • Strong knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and proofreading
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Understanding of politics, fashion, luxury, art and music
  • Portfolio required
