  • Overview

    The Quality Inspectors are responsible for incoming, outgoing and final quality inspections.


    • Performs incoming/outgoing/final quality control check through visual, functional and/or dimensional inspections according to SOP, as assigned, to confirm that product meets Quality and Design specifications and ultimately customers’ expectations
    • Adheres to Shinola Quality Management System procedures and processes, including but not limited to Control of Non-Conforming Materials (NCR)
    • Communicates accurate audit results to Quality leadership team through iMeet database records or Excel spreadsheet as required
    • Completes final packaging as required
    • Delivers approved product/materials to appropriate personnel for allocation into correct inventory location
    • Ensures that non-conforming product is tagged according to Quality indicator guidelines, documented and separated from acceptable product
    • Requests and/or processes AX transfers of incoming returned/re-allocated/rejected product to the appropriate warehouse location as required
    • Works efficiently to complete audits and support flow of good product/materials as defined by efficiency requirements
    • Make independent judgement calls in subjective situations with an understanding of Shinola Quality expectations
    • May be required to lift boxes and product weighing up to 50 lbs.
    • Responsible for completing special projects or tasks as requested by Quality Management or direct supervisor


    • High School diploma/GED required
    • Previous Quality inspection experience preferred
    • Good communication skills, written and verbal
    • Adequate computer skills needed to complete daily reporting tasks and send e-mail communications as required
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel…) preferred
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and iMeet Central Desktop a plus
    • Must be able to read and understand technical data and documents
    • Must understand how to read and use basic measuring tools such as measuring tape, micrometers and calipers
    • Must understand basic math, including ability to use a calculator
    • Detail-oriented
    • Must have a positive and professional attitude
    • Ability to work independently or as par of at team
    • Must have a strong work ethic and the ability to take initiative
