  • Overview

    The Jewelry Designer should demonstrate a high taste level and understanding of the world of fashion, knowledge of established and emerging brands, both inside and outside the jewelry industry. The Jewelry Designer will conceptualize, and design, full jewelry collections based upon high-level creative direction, as well as developing and implementing ideas through sketching, editing and use of 3D printing methodologies.



    • Ability to interpret high-level creative direction into actionable items and collections.
    • Understand and identify market trends in Jewelry and fashion.
    • Ability to explore ideas quickly and communicate them effectively using outside references and sketches.
    • Comfortable when presenting design ideas to small – medium sized groups.
    • Monitor industry best practices, recommend new design approaches and identify upcoming trends, new segments, and specific business opportunities.
    • Participates in creative discussions, reviews market trends and competitive market research.
    • Manage the development process and work with vendors on prototypes for new products.
    • Review samples and prototypes to resolve manufacturing and design issues.
    • Create technical packets for production. Work with internal product design, and with vendors to develop and refine projects.
    • Willing to enthusiastically create high quality work, whether developing your own concepts or the concepts of someone else.
    • Demonstrates basic knowledge about design techniques, tools, construction and principles involved in production.
    • Responsible for sourcing any reference materials or samples needed to complete design inspiration.



    • Bachelor of Arts Degree in Design or Fine Arts preferred.
    • 3-5 years of jewelry design experience.
    • Strong knowledge of art and design history.
    • Strong hand sketching skills—use of drawing as design methodology
    • Strong presentation skills: informal reviews and formal presentations are a component of this position
    • Expert level proficiency in CAD (Rhino), Adobe suite software and rendering skills (Keyshot).
    • Strong 3D skills & experience using 3D printing as integral part of design process
    • Knowledge of jewelry manufacturing techniques.
    • Proven record of working with vendors to develop and refine designs and taking projects to closure from initial concept to manufacturing.
    • Knowledge of gemstones and their uses; to include stone species, setting techniques and best practices.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
    • Clear and supportive communication skills, both written and oral.
    • Travel as required for vendor visits, design meetings etc.
